Editorial Review for lolo – by Elizabeth Lopeman
In Short
The atmosphere is airy and attracts an eclectic mix of foodies who come to sample the small plates. Although Lolo hasn't entirely captured the complexities of traditional Spanish cuisine, its Americanized versions are delectable. Popular menu items include the house-made potato chips and Serrano ham and manchego cheese croquettes, Mediterranean octopus or lamb ribs with fingerling potatoes, Spanish olives and wilted greens. Traditional Spanish flan or chocolate mousse can be ordered for dessert.

Insider Tips
Know Before You GoAlberta Street gets crowded on the last Thursday of every month for the Art Walk street fair. Getting a table then might take longer, but it's a great time to check out the neighborhood.
Where to SitTables with booth bench seating are best. Sitting near the door in such an open space is not recommended, and it tends to get loud in the center of the dining room.
What to DrinkChoose from a selection of Spanish wines, or finish your meal with a port.
Save MoneyHave a light meal by choosing a few tapas ranging from $4-$8 each.

I happened into here with my dining partner and I was amazed that it was not full at all on a Friday night while Toro Bravo is inpenetrable and always crowded - but lolo is far better. I agree with the other reviewer who has been to Spain. I lived in Spain and this is no way Americanized, it is more the real thing than Toro Bravo which is good but mediocre in comparison. Ceviche was wonderful, chorico (Portuguese chorizo) great, gazpacho excellent. I recommend it highly. Delicious and authentic and reasonably priced.
Pros: food, parking, service, value
Cons: nothing
