We had an amazing night at Alu last night. 8 of us were celebrating a birthday and got such personal and attentive service from every person working there. Our waitress was outstanding, making sure that every drink was filled immediately and every menu item (varied and delicious, with a lovely range) perfectly described and explained. She was warm and conversational, and very knowledgeable about the great wine list and delicious food. We stayed for hours, and probably kept the staff there for longer than we should have, but never felt hurried. The decor is warm and beautiful and we felt a bit like we were at a private party in someone's home. It will definitely be on top of the list when choosing a fun night out.

We went to Alu this weekend and we had a great experience. We didn't have any problems with our service or encounter any rude staff...luckily everyone was actually pretty great to us. The place has an classic decor that is so cozy for winter time. We had our work gettogether here with mainly drinks and apps and they were delicious. The wine selection was also very impressive, as we are all pretty big wine drinkers. I got a glimpse of the outdoor area which I assume is open in the spring/summer and definitely looks worth going back for. If you are a wine drinker and like good food, Alu is a great place to check out.
Pros: Great food and great wine
